DJ Legacy has lived his life between stacks of records. As a youngster, his grandfather, DJ Daddy Cool, took him under his wing as he rocked parties with classic rock and roll, rhythm and blues, funk, jazz, the latest hits, cumbias, corridos, country and anything else needed to move the crowd.
It would be hip hop's thunderous beats and impactful rhymes that would beckon Legacy to finesse the turntables on his own at the young age of 12. Taking the responsibilities of the DJ, rap's scholar, archivist, and showman, seriously, DJ Legacy looked to the best DJ's on the East & West coast for inspiration, and local luminaries for more immediate guidance.
Over the course of the past 14 years, DJ legacy ha s forged his skills in long, solitary bedroom sessions, on the spot at parties and clubs, and in the heat of battle. The beat doesn't stop, and DJ Legacy, with dusty fingers and ears mindful of the breaks, doesn't either.
